Memorandum of Understanding Signed Between Green and Smart Energy Organization and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus
On January 20, 2022, the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Belarus and China, the Green and Smart Energy Organization, in cooperation with the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, hosted an online seminar on the topic of “Sino-Belarus Cooperation on Low-Carbon Technology Innovation and Clean Energy Sector Development,” receiving positive responses from both parties. After negotiation, the two sides officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding on January 25th to establish an innovative partnership focusing on the implementation of renewable energy proposals and projects, to promote the research, development, and commercialization of new and globally competitive technologies and products. Wu Jianbo, Secretary General of the Green and Smart Energy Organization, and Kilchevsky Alexander Vladimirovich, Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, signed the contract on behalf of the two sides.
The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus is the highest scientific research institution in Belarus, and is responsible for organizing, implementing, and coordinating basic and applied scientific research. It participates in the formulation and management of national science and technology policies and provides reference for decision-making. It has more than 16000 experts at all levels and dozens of scientific research institutions, which have produced world-leading research in scientific and technological fields including laser physics, high temperature plasma physics, heat and mass transfer theory, and precision machinery parts rolling.
Kilchevsky Alexander Vladimirovich expressed his hope that the signing of the memorandum will lay the foundation for long-term cooperation between both sides and proposed to carry out further exchanges at the Dubai World Expo.
Wu Jianbo commented that the signing marks the successful establishment of institutionalized contact channels between both sides. In the future, the contracting parties will give full play to their respective professional advantages, conduct in-depth exchanges on the latest development trends and innovative achievements in the fields of clean and smart energy, explore specific large-scale capacity cooperation projects in the fields of clean and smart energy, such as waste incineration power generation and ecological coal power, and further tap opportunities and space for strategic cooperation between the two countries to facilitate exchanges of advanced energy technologies, standards, equipment, management techniques, and investment resources.
