SUPPORTING THE GREEN AND
SMART DEVELOPMENT OF GLOBAL SOCIETIES
The Green and Smart Energy Organization (GSEO) is a global non-profit organization whose mission is
to accelerate carbon neutrality, promote clean and low-carbon transformation, and the smart
development of global energy.
The 2021 Carbon Peak and Neutrality Forum and the 9th Shenzhen International Low Carbon City Forum, hosted by the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government under the guidance of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and the People’s Government of Guangdong Province, was successfully held from December 16th-17th, 2021. This was among the highest-level international summits held in Shenzhen during the pandemic and since China’s international pledge to achieve carbon peaking and carbon neutrality. As an important part of the forum, the Green and Smart Energy Organization (GSEO) hosted two side-events: the “2021 International Clean Energy Development and Cooperation Forum”, and the “2021 International Hydrogen Energy Industry Development and Cooperation Seminar.” The forum’s theme was “Dual Carbon Leadership: Sharing New Opportunities for International Clean Energy Development.” Building on from the success of the “2021 International Conference on Cooperation in the Hydrogen Energy Industry” hosted in Chengdu in May, this was the first Energy Summit to be hosted by the GSEO in Shenzhen, the forefront of China’s reform and opening up.
The 2021 International Conference on Cooperation in the Hydrogen Energy Industry was held in Chengdu on May 28. It was the first high-level energy-related summit held in Sichuan since China made its international commitment to achieve a peak in carbon dioxide emissions and carbon neutrality. Representatives from more than 120 international and domestic companies and organizations took part in the conference, including the International Association for Hydrogen Energy (IAHE), the Austrian Federal Ministry for Climate Action, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology, Verbund VG, ENEOS, ITOCHU, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Shenzhen Energy, State Power Investment, Shanghai Electric, CPECC, CSSC, CRRC and other domestic leading companies in the field of hydrogen energy. The summit put forward a ambitious blueprint for Sichuan's construction of the "Pioneer Zone for International Hydrogen Energy Cooperation" and China's first hydrogen export transportation line, and built a bridge to incubate major projects and inspire smart development within the industry.
The bilateral and multilateral dialogues initiated by the GSEO focused on government officials, enterprises and institutions to promote further mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of green development across all regions of the world.
